Product Overview - Phase and Period Groups

Stratigraphic units can be grouped into phases or periods. A phase defines a structural relation, like postholes of a Celtic house. A phase is defined by selecting the units that are to set in a phase and add a phase group using the phase tool. A period defines a temporal relation i.e. all the units in a period belong to the same time period. A period is defined by selecting the units and/or phases that are to set in a period and add a period group using the period tool.

Phases and period group nodes can be collapsed and expanded again to make the Harris Matrix more compact. By selecting a phase or period you can change its unique identifier, a name and a description with the properties editor.
